Diplomatic University & Housing Village
Helping Hands, Inc., a Texas nonprofit organization, is developing the Helping Hands Diplomatic University and the Helping Hands Housing Village in Lufkin, Texas.
The project is designed to serve children, families, and community members by providing educational opportunities and quality housing for those facing housing challenges and economic hardship. The development focuses on education, housing stability, community support, leadership development, and creating opportunities for future generations.
The Development
Helping Hands Diplomatic University
An educational and training center dedicated to helping children and young adults pursue educational advancement, leadership development, life skills, vocational training, and community service.
Planned to include
- Classrooms and lecture halls
- Library and learning resource facilities
- Technology and computer learning centers
- Educational and leadership training programs
- Community meeting facilities
- Student gathering and study areas
- Administrative and support offices
- Multi-purpose educational facilities
Helping Hands Housing Village
Developed to assist individuals and families who have experienced housing challenges and need safe, stable, and affordable housing opportunities. The village is planned to include approximately 50 residential units.

- One-bedroom homes and cottages
- Two-bedroom homes and cottages
- Community green spaces
- Walking paths and landscaped areas
- Community gathering spaces
- Environmentally responsible and sustainable design features
The housing program will prioritize qualified individuals and families based on established eligibility criteria and housing needs.
